Free Pattern: The Rhode Wristlet

A few weeks back my husband and I were getting ready to go away for a few days to Rhode Island and I was reorganizing my purse. I don’t know about you, but when we go on a road trip my purse holds different things than in my normal day to day.

One of the things that I realized is that I only carry two key fobs now, one for my car and one for his. But they are usually just floating around in the bottom of my purse. The issue with that on a road trip is that my husband is a photographer, and we often stop at scenic spots to jump out and take in the view and a few (or many) pictures. We aren’t out of the car long, and we don’t go too far away from it, but we still want to lock it. I needed, ok wanted, a way to just grab the keys and not have to take the whole bag.

Enter the wristlet keychain. I grabbed some cotton yarn, and a keychain that I had in my craft supplies, and after a few minutes, ta da, a wristlet.

Now let’s get crocheting!

Row 2: HHDC across

Slip piece through split ring, and fold in half bringing short sides together.

Slipstitch short sides together, and weave in one of the two ends.

With the other end sew across about an inch down, so that the ring doesn’t slide up and down the wristlet. Weave in to secure.

Add lobster claw.
